It’s about time we summarised the broad range of improvements and enhancements we’ve released so far in 2024. 

As with all cloud-based software, our dedicated team of developers constantly monitors, upgrades, and improves performance behind the scenes but then there’s what we refer to as the ‘front-end’. In other words, what you guys see. That's what we'll be summarising.

Have a skim through the list of updates. If you’re an existing user, it's worth making sure you’re getting the most from these features. For anyone who’s considering Groundplan there may just be something in the list you’ve been waiting for.

A much simpler way to calculate square & cubic meterage

Measuring square & cubic meterage (even pitch) has recently become a whole lot simpler. 

This update applies to the Length and Area tools. 

We’ve even removed a step required to access this calculation but we’ve also added a simple field for you to enter Height, Width and Pitch.

No need for formulas!

New Parts and Labour window

The Parts and Labour window is now accessible without leaving the Plans window.

Editing Parts & Labour for each Measurement is much quicker now the window simply pops out from the side instead of navigating away to another window.

Less steps, quicker workflow.

Improved Plan navigation

Navigating large projects is now easier. Again removing navigation steps, you can more easily jump to another plan without leaving the Plans tab.

Freeform mode, Pen mode and colour options for the Eraser tool

The Eraser Tool also received an upgrade earlier in the year.

Now users can switch between Freeform and Pen modes and even change the fill colour. Use the eyedropper to perfectly match existing colours on the plan so no matter what coloured areas need masking, we’ve got you covered.

Now you can get those plans cleaned up perfectly to create a professional presentation for your clients.

Length Labelling for improved design clarity

First there was Count Labelling, now we have Length labelling. 

With a range of formatting options, you can now add a label to your Length measurement to offer better clarity for trades such as plumbing and electrical work. 

This feature ensures that any length on the plan, no matter how long, no matter where you are zoomed in, the length measurement can be easily identified.

New user roles for enhanced security

New User roles are now available allowing admins to control access based on employee roles. This provides increased account security, ensuring only authorised personnel can access or modify sensitive project data.

Plan-wide symbol resizing 

Users can now change symbol sizes in bulk across the plan. Rather individually scaling symbol sizes per measurement, you can now adjust the scale of all symbols on the plan at once.

Redesigned Project Overview tab

The Project Overview tab was redesigned to offer a cleaner, faster glance over your project and easier access to functionality such a Project settings, To-Do lists, Sharing options and more.
