Groundplan is a web based takeoff and estimating product built specifically for the construction trades such as plumbers, electricians, painters and more. To create an estimate, users count & measure directly atop floor plans, paying special attention to usability.
Our product has already won over a large number of satisfied customers and we're looking for more talented front end specialists to continue improving the user experience and expand our product further. That's where you come in.

About the role
This is a full time role for an experienced remote front end developer based in Christchurch, who has ideally come from a web application product background. You will work directly with the company’s founders which developed the product. On-boarding will take place at our Christchurch office, however, after the process is complete, you can choose to work remotely.
You will be expected to:
- Develop front-end architectures
- Develop new UI features and components in Vue
- Write clean, functional, production ready code
- Define how a component works as well as how it looks
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Communicate clearly & effectively through tools like Slack, Git, & email
- Be self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of your work
- Collaborate effectively with the Product Manager and the development team to determine the optimal UI for new features
What you will bring
- Excellent understanding of modern Javascript, HTML and CSS
- Excellent understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks like Vue.js (preferable), React or similar.
- Practical understanding of git (semi-linear workflow)
- (Preferable) Experience with the 2d or WebGL Canvas API
- (Preferable) Basic knowledge of image authoring tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma
